A Free Palestine

I kept looking for like-minded people

when I was meant to be searching for

like-hearted souls

//

“We are The Generation,

Holding tomorrow in the palm of our hands,

Ancestors deemed us responsible”

- Farah Chamma Palestinian poet

//

In the unveiling

When you ask for truth

You can’t unsee it

Not in yourself

Not in others

//

May the veils be lifted from our eyes

May bravery prevail in our hearts

May grace guide our soulsFor humanity

//

Our freedom is interconnected

Our sovereignty tied

//

May all your lives

Not be lost in vain

May the failure before us

Alchemize us

//

The assignment is nowT

he assignment is you

//

The only way is through

Go through

Go through your discomfort

Go through

We are waiting for you

Go through

We will meet you on the other side

That is where freedom lies

//

Weeks of heartbreak wrapped in fragments of hope

Feeling helpless

Knowing justice requires all of us to activate

Put our trust in each otherIn a world we can’t trust

To untie the bindsThat restrict our hearts

And take away innocent life

There is no future in this direction

Rewrite it

//

Eternally grateful to the brave souls loudly advocating for freedom

Showing up

Transmuting this

//

Be the prayer.

//

To a free Palestine.
