On living and dying

azizam,

If the crack lets the light in,
then I must be aglow.

If the broken pieces are mended with gold,
then I must be a miner's dream.

I keep putting myself back together,
from the heartache of losing,
you.
and you,
and you.

How am I to rejoice in splendor,
If you are not here to share it with?

Living and dying is
where you laugh and cry at the same time.

Where you live in grief,
and live in joy,
in tandem.

Where you dance with the parts of you,
that don’t make sense,
but mean everything.

That’s the art of living
and dying.

Where you hold space,
for it all.

Where you constantly.
evolve.
